DirectionsFrom Cape Town International Airport Take the N2, direction towards Somerset West. Continue past Somerset West. This is where you now have two options: Option 1 – more direct Take Sir Lowry’s Pass up the mountain. Pass the turn-offs for Elgin and Grabouw, and continue up the Houw Hoek Pass. Once you reach the top of the pass, you will see a sign that reads ‘Welcome to the Overberg’. As you descend on the other side, you will get to a very sharp hairpin turn and immediately after that you will see the turn off to Hermanus on the R43. Take the R43, which is a left feed off of the road you are on, and you will cross the N2 on a flyover. Option 2 – exceptionally scenic Turn off of the N2 on the Cape Town side of Sir Lowry’s pass before you begin the climb, towards Gordon’s Bay. Follow the scenic R44 around the coast past Rooiels, Pringle Bay, Betty’s bay (where the penguins live) and Kleinmond. The road ends at a T-junction at the R43. Turn right towards Hermanus. Approximately 22kms later and just into Hermanus, you will arrive at a traffic light at a shopping mall –the Gateway Centre. There is also a Total service station on the corner. Turn right. Towards the bottom of this road, just before it begins to veer to the right, turn left at DAVIDSON BOARDS. Approach the T-junction in front of the Medi-Clinic Private Hospital. Turn right, and 10 meters later in front of the HMO, turn left. Go past the Medi-Clinic and approach the T-junction on Canterbury Street. Turn right and take the first left into Strand Street. Approach the T-junction at the end of the road where it meets Westcliff Drive. Turn right and To RUN To is the 2nd house, first driveway, on the right hand side. It is Number 72. From The Garden Route From the N2, with a direction towards Cape Town, 11 kms past Riviersonderend on the Cape Town side of it, turn left at the R326 marked Hermanus. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS VERY BADLY SIGNED. Approximately 54 kms later (40-45 minutes), this road will end. Go straight over – do not turn at the Caledon/Napier intersection. When this road ends, you will find yourself in Stanford. Turn right onto the R43 and travel towards Hermanus (approximately 22kms). Proceed through the town. At the intersection where there is a traffic lights and a shop named Foschini (in front of you), you will have to turn right. Turn left 50 metres later into St Peter’s lane and drive towards the sea. At the T-junction, turn right onto Westcliff Drive for approximately 1.5 kms. You will see a turn to the left (Marine Drive) but continue straight for one block. You will see a long white fence on the right. To RUN To’s driveway is located at the end of the white fence and is Number 72. |
