It is about 45 minutes drive from Gansbaai, which has became well-known for shark cage diving. Whale Cottage Hermanus has a sparkling pool, and offers secure parking. It is safe to walk to the restaurants and shops. All rooms have a bath/shower en suite, television, airconditioning, hairdryers, heated towel rails, electric blankets, tea/coffee tray and a CD player.
Seafacing rooms open onto a terrace. Breakfast Buffets are enjoyed on the seafacing pool terrace.
An Honesty Bar, and a tea/coffee tray, is available 24 hours a day. Whale Cottage guests are welcome to use the hi-speed wireless internet facility at no charge, but we request that the usage be of reasonable duration. Hermanus is 120 km from Cape Town, on the Indian Ocean, at the start of the Garden Route.

DirectionsFrom Cape Town International Airport
From the airport take the N2 turn-off in the direction of SOMERSET WEST.
The N2 automatically takes you through Somerset West.
This leads you through Sir Lowry's Pass, alongside Elgin/Grabouw, until you take the HERMANUS turn-off.
Carry on along the road to Hermanus.
You will automatically arrive in Hermanus on the Main Road.
Pass the Gateway Shopping Centre on your right.
About 4 streets further turn right into Albertyn Street (there is a vet on the corner).
Drive down Albertyn Street, and turn right into Westcliff Drive at the intersection.
We are another 300 meters away, on your right, at 38 Westcliff Drive.
